Rachel Lattimore was born in Essex in 1986 and spent most of her childhood drawing lycra themed fashion designs, making furniture for her dolls house and playing with fuzzy felts. As an adult during her Art Foundation Course in London’s East End, Rachel realised that an illustration degree was the only way to indulge these early childhood design diversities. She went on to study at the University of Brighton and experimented with making magazines, conducting photo shoots, and creating collages before finally settling on teaching herself animation.

Graduating in 2008 with top marks Rachel exhibited with the rest of her class in London’s Truman Brewery, a show which has since been listed amongst Grafik Magazine’s ‘Best of 2008’. In the summer after graduating from her degree, Rachel art directed a council funded feature film, before leaving for New York in September 2008 where she interned at FatCat records in Brooklyn. Rachel’s clients have already included Topman, NYLON magazine and The Big Chill Festival and her film ‘Atom’s and Empty Space’ was chosen to be screened at Exposures Film Festival in Manchester. She recently worked on the Watchmen event for Future cinema, a job which sparked a new interest in Set Design and led her to her current commission for Suffolk County Council designing post boxes and post cards for a community led, memory themed project. Rachel hopes to continue drawing, designing, making and animating in the future and hopes to move to Berlin in order to indulge her passions for fashion and music and to try and learn a bit of German.
